Good progress is being made by J Browne Construction with its ‘Lot 10 Standard New Connections’ contract for Thames Water’s North East London area. Hundreds of houses and apartments have been connected to mains supply or received services upgrades since the five year contract went live in December.
Project manager Pat McMahon says: “Work has taken off in a big way since the contract began. Our new team is based in a dedicated facility at Jenkins Lane in Beckton and we carry out under pressure drilling to ensure that customers do not go without water during our works. We also strive to ensure that traffic and residents are not unduly disrupted when works are under way.”
Main supplies and service connections continue to be installed at the large Barbot and Rainham housing estates in east London and around 400m of pipework was installed this spring close to Leyton Orient football club, to service an upgrade to the stadium and new property in surrounding streets.
